Why is the refund I received, less than the amount on my return?

I provided the wrong account number on my Tax Return for my refund. How do I update the account information?
The account information must be updated by H&R Block. Your refund will be sent again after the account information has been successfully updated. You can contact an H&R Block agent that can assist you with updating the account information to ensure you receive your refund in a timely manner, at (800) HRBLOCK or (800) 472-5625.
I received a BofI Federal Bank direct deposit that I do not recognize. I have not filed my taxes, I do not have a prepaid card, and I did not file my taxes through H&R Block. Why did I receive this deposit?
For any transactions that you do not recognize on your account statement with your Bank, we recommend you contact them directly to dispute the transaction as unauthorized.

When will my account transfer to Bank of Internet USA?
The transition of your account from H&R Block’s system to Bank of Internet USA’s system will take place over the December 5-6, 2015 weekend. Beginning Monday, December 7, 2015, the system will be ready to service all of your banking needs. Until then, it’s business as usual.
Will my account number change?
We are pleased to confirm that after your account will be transferred to Bank of Internet USA, your account number will stay exactly the same.
Will my Routing (ABA) Number Change for any automatic debits and credits I have set up on my account?
Direct deposits (ACH credits and debits), automatic withdrawals and wires sent to H&R Block Bank's previous routing number will be accepted for 30 days. To avoid any rejected or returned items, please immediately contact any payroll, auto debit vendors, or senders of wires after December 7, 2015 and update the routing information to 122287251.
Will my account features stay the same?
We’ve chosen a Bank of Internet account that best matches your existing H&R Block Bank account. As indicated in the Welcome Package that was mailed to you, the name of your existing H&R Block Bank account will remain the same at Bank of Internet. You can find out more about your account plus other important information by checking out other sections of this website.
How will this bank transfer affect my IRA account?
This transfer has no tax effect on your IRA. The only change is that BofI Federal Bank has replaced H&R Block Bank as the custodian. We will continue to process your automatic distributions and contributions as they are set up today.
What Happens to Online Banking?
On Friday, December 4, 2015 at 5:00 PM PT, the HRB Bank Online Banking system will be deactivated in preparation for the conversion. Please be sure to make any transfers you might need over that week-end before December 4, 2015
How do I access Online Banking after the account transfer?
To register for online banking, visit www.bankofinternet.com/HRB on or after December 7, 2015 at 8:00 AM PT and click on the "New user" link.
During new user registration, you will be asked to select a username and password. You will also set up your enhanced security features. These features will be used as an authentication of your identity in the event you forget your password, or login using a different computer, tablet, or mobile device.
How does the transition affect my ATM Card?
For those Easy Savings customers with existing H&R Block Bank ATM cards, you will receive a new Bank of Internet USA ATM card at least a week before the conversion. Please continue to use your existing H&R Block Bank card through Sunday December 6th without interruption. Effective Monday, December 7, 2015 at 12:01 PST, your new Bank of Internet USA ATM Card will be available for use. After this time, you may call in to activate the card at 877-541-2634 (Option 1, then option 3). Please call to activate your card from your home phone number on record. After activating the card, you can use the card at any ATM machine, and the first PIN you use for your first transaction will be the PIN on your account.

Will my HRB Bank interest rate stay the same?
Your savings account will earn the Bank Of Internet's current Easy Savings rate which can change from time to time. Your CD will earn its current rate until maturity. We will honor the terms and conditions of your HRB Bank certificate during its term. However, once your CD matures, it will roll over to the Bank of Internet USA’s Terms and Conditions and interest rates. Bank of Internet USA will mail and email out a maturity notification 30 days prior to maturity. At the end of the 10 calendar day grace period, Bank of Internet USA will send out a renewal notice indicating the term and rate at which your CD renewed. Please refer to the Personal Deposit Account Agreement & Schedule of Fees regarding any other changes concerning your Certificate(s) of Deposit.
Will I continue to receive paper statements?
As a paperless organization, Bank of Internet USA encourages its customers to sign up for free electronic statements (e-Statements). With an e-Statement, you can view and keep transaction history, statements and check images for up to 2 years at no cost.
To register and view your e-Statements, simply follow these steps:
- Log into Online Banking.
- Click on View Statements near the right hand side.
- Select your account and click Enter.
- Select the date you wish to view, and click on the PDF button to pull up the statement.
The Bank will mail paper statements for a limited time at no charge as follows:
- Traditional IRA and Roth IRA Savings Accounts - Annual Fair Market Value statements will be provided at no cost through December 31, 2015. Beginning December 31, 2016, paper statements will be $5.00.
- Easy Savings customers – quarterly statements will be provided through June 30, 2016 at no cost. Beginning September 30, 2016, paper statements will be $5.00.
- Certificate of Deposit customers – Annual paper statements through December 31, 2015 will be provided at no cost. Beginning December 31, 2016, statements will be $5.00.
